For the third consecutive year, Cusco has been chosen as the best city in Mexico and Central and South America by the US travel magazine, Travel and Leisure.
The results of the survey are published on their site along with the results of the rest of the world’s top cities in the remaining regions.
Following Cusco, Peru, was Mexico City in second place, and Rio de Janeiro in third.
“The results have been posted online. Cusco is positioned higher than cities such as Mexico city, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Lima,” said Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Magali Silva according to Andina news agency.
“This proves our cultural heritage and hotel infrastructure are placed among the top of the world.”
The results of these surveys allow the tourism industry to better understand trends and the level of quality that tourists are receiving and what they demand.
Travel and Leisure announced yesterday that five Peruvian hotels are included in their list of Latin America’s best city hotels.
